SPRINGFIELD, NJ - West 22 Diner owner Alex Manolakis managed the diner for the last eight and a half years.  It just closed.

In the past year, he was approached by Darden Retaurants, Inc. parent company to LongHorn Steak House.  They told him they wanted to build a new restaurant on the diner’s location.  He believes a new restaurant with fresh landscaping will be betterment to the community.  So, he agreed to lease the property on which he retains ownership to Darden to build the new restaurant. Demolition is to begin the second week of March.

Mr. Manolakis wished to thank all the members of the community that patronized West 22 Diner. “People are still calling expressing regret that the restaurant closed. We feel very grateful to have had so many loyal customers.”
