The Dayton Boys Basketball Team Got Off on the Right Foot Friday Night.

SPRINGFIELD, NJ - Senior guard Antonio Salcfas scored a game-high 19 points, hitting two 3-pointers, and senior forward Anthony Rajoppi added 14 second half points to lead Dayton to a 62-46 season-opening home victory over rival Brearley in Springfield.

Sophomore guard DJ Alicea contributed 10 points and senior forward/center Ryan Lashuk added eight for Dayton (1-0), which led 25-13 at halftime, highlighted by a 15-7 second quarter.

Sophomore Ibn McLean scored a team-high 17 points with six rebounds and senior Mike Ramos added 15 points with five rebounds and four steals for Brearley (0-1).

“Tonight was a good win because everyone got involved. From the starters to the bench players everyone played their role and it was a good way to start the season out and get the win,” said Rajoppi. “What we can take from tonight is when everybody runs through the plays the way we are coached to do, we will be successful, and if we don't, that's when turnovers and bad shots occur.”

The Bulldogs will embark on a two-game road trip starting Tuesday, December 19th at rival New Providence (7 p.m.) and will visit Roselle Park on Thursday with first tipoff scheduled for 5:30 p.m. is Springfield’s free daily news source.
