SPRINGFIELD, NJ - The Decorating Store at Terminal Mill Ends opened on Friday at 711 Mountain Avenue in Springfield. Owner Ernest Spinelli had a congratulatory toast before assembling the employees and friends outside at 1 p.m. for the ribbon cutting. Township Committeewoman Geri Ann Bujnowski cut the ribbon. She was joined by members of the Business Improvement District (BID).

Spinelli addressed those assembled saying the store had been operating in Union for 68 years, but now they “…are all in, in Springfield with two buildings, all brand new, well designed and modern.”

He praised the Township staff, the Planning Board and BID Chair Michael Scalera for being very co-operative in helping him get the business open.  He took time to mention the longevity of many of the employees that were with him on Friday. One employee had been with him for 47 years, another 29 years, etc.

The Decorating Store is a design center with selections of window treatments.  There is a large selection of fabrics for reupholstering, which is a large percentage of their business. The companion building next door houses home furnishings.

Toward the end of his comments, Spinelli reiterated that he is looking forward to being part of the Springfield community. The store’s Open House is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please come in and say hello.
