The Week of June 19 to 25 in Springfield, NJ

SPRINGFIELD, NJ – This week marks the end of the school year for the Springfield School system.  The Moving Up Ceremony for Florence M. Gaudineer School occurs Monday and the Jonathan Dayton Graduation occurs Tuesday at the Papermill Playhouse. 

Because of the Moving Up Ceremony, the Board of Education will hold its meeting at 4:30 p.m. Monday. The Chamber of Commerce meeting occurs Thursday morning at the Hilton Garden Inn in Springfield.  The Board of Adjustment is scheduled to meet Tuesday evening.  There is no Environmental Commission meeting this week. 

The Springfield Free Public Library offers a full schedule of events including a Monday showing of the 1982 movie “The Verdict”, a program on “Coping with Behavior Changes from Alzheimer’s” Wednesday and many other offerings.

The Community Pool is open and the Township offers expanded recycling Saturday.

From Library’s website:  Behavioral changes in Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia can pose concerns for family caregivers. As the disease progresses, behavior often becomes the primary way people with the disease communicate their needs. Learn why people with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia experience behavior changes, what those behaviors mean, and how to cope when behaviors are challenging.

Presented by Alzheimer’s New Jersey. There is no fee for attending this program, however, pre-registration is required.
