CRANFORD – On Monday, March 6, Union County College (UCC) will join other New Jersey institutions to launch the New Jersey’s Community College 1st (#NJCC1st) social media campaign to promote community college quality and affordability in the state

UCC invites students, alumni, donors, trustees, foundation members, faculty, staff, business leaders, elected officials, and all those who have benefitted from a New Jersey community college to take to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube to share their community college success stories using the #NJCC1st hangtag, or by tagging @NJCC1st in Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram posts.

The goal is to highlight community colleges as a worthwhile investment in the future by featuring genuine stories from those who have been positively impacted by New Jersey’s community colleges.

In addition to live social media posts, each of New Jersey’s 19 community colleges will release a series of testimonial videos that describe the importance of community colleges from students, alumni, faculty, staff, and business leaders.

UCC is a public comprehensive community college providing quality, affordable, accessible educational programs that serve the greater Union County region. It is the first community college of New Jersey’s 19 Associate Degree colleges, serving both career-minded and transfer-oriented students since 1933. The College enrolls almost 30,000 credit, non-credit and continuing education students and is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Many programs lead to the Associate in Arts, Science and Applied Science degrees.

The New Jersey Council of County Colleges is the state association representing New Jersey’s community colleges. As an independent, trustee-headed organization that joins the leadership of trustees and presidents, the Council is the voice of the community college sector before the state legislature and other branches of government.
