MILLBURN, NJ - The water main along Parsonage Hill Road is getting a major overhaul in a project that is set to last until spring. New Jersey American Water is replacing the current 24 inch main with a 32 inch upgraded pipeline and also includes new connections running to each house.

American Water planned the project to minimize impact to the roadway by working in small sections that will be patched daily.
Drivers should use caution as the patches and roadwork can leave loose gravel along the roadway. Work is set for 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and is weather dependent.

Currently, Parsonage Hill Road is set to be closed between White Oak Ridge Road and Long Hill Drive. Emergency vehicles cannot pass during working hours. Additionally, there will be a soft road closure at Parsonage Hill Road and Hartshorn Drive and another soft road closure at Parsonage Hill Road and Old Short Hills Road.

Vehicles attempting to travel south on Parsonage Hill Road at White Oak Ridge Road will be detoured onto White Oak Ridge Road eastbound where they will turn right onto Great Hills Road and up to Old Short Hills Road. Detoured vehicles will turn right onto Old Short Hills Road, which will bring them down to the Old Short Hills Road and Parsonage Hill Road Closure.
The detour for Old Short Hills Road and Parsonage Hill Road is the same as the above from the opposite direction.
