West Point Glee Club to Perform at St. John’s Summit Concert Series


SUMMIT, NJ - The West Point Glee Club which, for more that 100 years, has represented the United States military in celebrated venues across the country, will appear on the St. John’s Summit Concert Series (SJSCS) stage February 12, beginning at 3 p.m.

Under the direction of conductor Constance Chase, the group is in high demand, and their voices have be heard in movie soundtracks and at nationally broadcast sporting events, such as Super Bowl XXXIX.

“We are honored to have the West Point Glee Club performing at St. John’s,” said SJSCS President Kenneth Bryson. “They are exceptionally talented musicians with a rich tradition of excellence and a motto that everyone can relate to: 'No fun without music, no music without fun'.’”

The Glee Club has a wide repertoire, including all genres of American and international choral compositions. However, it is best known for its performance of traditional West Point songs, such as The Corps and The Alma Mater. The group’s performance at the St. John’s Summit Concert Series will feature a mix of various compositions. Afterward, concertgoers are invited to stay for a reception to celebrate the music.
