PLAINFIELD, NJ - To celebrate the holiday season, candlelight and carols will greet concertgoers when they enter the Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church in Plainfield on December 11 at 5:00 pm.  The Crescent Singers offer the public a free program of Christmas music from the medieval to the modern, from traditional to the unusual!  For forty-four years the annual “Yuletide by Candlelight” concert has been performed in the glow of candles warmly illuminating the gothic splendor of the Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church sanctuary.  The sound of hand bells and the strains of hymns are heard as the singers process in the darkened nave to the chancel that is adorned with Christmas wreaths.

This much anticipated event marks the debut of conductor, Clifford Parrish, with the Crescent Singers.  Mr. Parrish is also Artistic Director of Crescent Concerts as well as conductor of the Crescent Choral Society.

“Yuletide by Candlelight” features the renowned voices of the Crescent Singers, many of whom are well known to the community.  The program also features familiar carols sung by the entire audience.  The free concert on December 11, at 5:00 pm is open to all and tickets are not required.  Crescent Concerts offers this program of joyful music to kick start the Christmas season.  Surrounding communities are encouraged to hear the exceptional Crescent Singers as they raise their voices in holiday songs for the whole family.
