In consideration of the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19 in New Jersey, the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders has announced that Watchung Stable will be closed to the public for two weeks beginning Friday, March 13. All scheduled classes and events are cancelled, and drop-in visitors are not permitted.

Persons who board horses at the stable will be allowed regular access in order to care for their horses, and must adhere to basic guidelines for preventing person-to-person spread of the virus, including frequent handwashing and social distancing. At this time there is no evidence that horses can contract COVID-19.

Boarders will receive written instructions from Watchung Stable staff regarding guidelines for COVID-19 prevention, and may contact the stable at 908-789-3665 for additional information.
