Drive-In Movies in Springfield

A classic drive-in movie experience is being paired with a modern high-tech twist for a summer of entertainment in Springfield! The Springfield Recreation Department has teamed up with local company Boxcar to bring three drive-in movies to the township. To be the first to receive details and payment information, interested Springfield residents must sign up with Boxcar at

Mark your calendars! On Wednesday, July 8; Thursday, July 23; and Thursday, August 13, the parking lot at the Springfield Community Pool will be transformed into a socially-distant outdoor movie theater -- complete with a jumbo screen, FM audio transmission, and food delivery. Movie titles, screening times, and reservation fees will be announced soon. Each movie will have limited spots available that are first-come first-served and subject to advance reservation only through Boxcar

Boxcar will also be partnering with local restaurants to offer pre-ordered food and drinks delivered directly to your car. Moviegoers must remain in their cars for the duration of the event, and no lawn chairs or blankets are allowed. You are encouraged to attend with only members of your household in your car. Boxcar is a Chatham-based integrated commuting company that specializes in on-demand train station parking, luxury motor coach service to Manhattan, grocery delivery, drive-in movies, car detailing, landscaping, and outdoor pools.
