JCS PTA Barnes & Noble Book Fair

The public is invited to attend the James Caldwell School Barnes & Noble Book Fair. All week long, student work will be on display at Barnes & Noble. In addition, the week will include will be a number of community events and a portion of the proceeds from sales will go towards the charitable organization of the JCSPTA's choice. 

This year, the book fair will benefit Pajama Program, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that believes “every child, no matter their circumstances, has the inherent right to a loving good night, with the comforting bedtime ritual of changing into new, clean pajamas and enjoying an enchanting story. Pajama Program offers at-risk children the unconditional, magical gifts of new pajamas and new books so that they can enjoy the greatest benefit of a loving bedtime and peaceful good night: a fulfilling good day.”

In addition to donating the book fair proceeds, the JCS PTA also be collecting new, clean, child-size pajamas to Pajama Program. A drop-off bin will be available at Barnes & Noble Springfield.

Please note that in order for the JCSPTA to get credit for the sales, you must tell the cashier at checkout that you are with the James Caldwell book fair. 

Schedule of Activities:

  • 3/20/2018, 7 p.m.: Performance from the cast of Jonathan Dayton High School’s Cinderella
  • 3/22/2018: 4:30 p.m. Book talk and reading from bilingual children's author Alidis Vicente and performances from selected Caldwell student music ensembles
  • 3/24/2018: 4 p.m. Author talk and book-signing by Jennifer Li Shotz, author of New York Times best-selling “Hero” book series
