John J. “ Bottles” Greco, 70

SOUTH PLAINFIELD - John J. “ Bottles” Greco, also known as "Bruh", 70, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 15, 2107 at his home.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he had resided in Staten Island prior to settling to South Plainfield in the early 1970's. He served his country proudly as a Veteran of the United States Air Force and was a former member of the South Plainfield Italian American Club.

Bottles worked as a truck driver for various companies for 45 years prior to his retirement. He will be sadly missed by many and forever be remembered for his many stories and comments that always could put a smile on your face. He had a great personality and was the guy everyone wanted to be hanging out with at a party.  As a master of the Koi pond and fish, his passion has brought him and others much happiness and relaxation. In his retirement, his grandchildren became his pride and joy.  He helped all of them learn how to swim and spent every hour he could in his backyard enjoying their company. His hobbies also included reading and following his many beloved New York professional sports teams.  

Predeceased by this twin brother, Joseph, surviving are his wife of 46 years, Angela, three children; Stephanie Horning and her husband, Jeff, Chris and his wife Sandy and John and his wife, Mary Beth, six beloved grandchildren; Cara, Ashley, Owen, Brianna, Blake, and Brynlee.

Also surviving are his sister and brother in law; JoAnn and Richard Giordano, niece Jennifer Campagna and nephew Steven Giordano.

Family and friends are invited to join together for visitation from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home for Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080

A funeral service will begin at 8 PM with cremation services taking place privately.
