SPRINGFIELD, NJ - Tuesday afternoon, the Springfield Rotary Club was paid a visit by a new member of the Rotary International office.

Raymond  Freaney Jr., the new District Governor for the 2019-2020 year was on hand to meet with the club and see how they operate. Freaney, who is in charge of Rotary District 7475 was in the middle of a whistle-stop tour to visit as many districts as he could.

Freaney joined in 1996 when he became a member of the Phillipsburg chapter. From there, he ascended the ranks, before finally becoming district governor. During his presentation, Freaney also spoke about the plans of the Rotary Club President, Mark Maloney.

Freaney said that Maloney's new initiative was called rotary connects the world. It is meant to show the number of ways Rotary is involved in the community.

As a show of support for the Springfield Club, Freaney presented the club with a mini banner bearing the slogan.
