SPRINGFIELD, NJ — At the end of January, the Springfield Recreation Department experienced a changeover in its staff, as Senior Citizens Program Coordinator Amefika Gray left for a new position outside the township.

During his time in the position, Gray spent four years as RPC and one year as a Youth Wing Supervisor. When interviewed by TAPinto Springfield over email, Gray said that doing his job for the past few years was lways a pleasent experience.

"It was a pleasure to work in a township I once resided in," Gray said. "I appreciate support and friendships I made over the years. From mayors & committee members, the police chief & officers, business owners, other township employees and residents."

For Gray, he said that one of the highlights of his position was learning local history firsthand from the seniors, and seeing them smile when he greeted them. Another was being encouraged by the seniors when they ask about him and his family personally.

Gray also said he had, "fun memories and experiences working with Adam Lieb and our awesome department colleagues."
