SPRINGFIELD, NJ - With the calendar getting ready to flip to December, check out some upcoming government meetings and events in town you need to know:

On Dec. 4, the township will hold its annual winter celebration. The event will run from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a rain date of the following day, Dec. 5.

Later that week, the township will hold a free rabies clinic on Dec. 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Pet owners are encouraged to attend.

In the charity category, Dec. 12 sees the return of Rise Against Hunger, where volunteers will work to pack tens of thousands worth of meals for those in need. Volunteers are needed, email Mike@mikescalera.com if interested.

And in government, Dec. 9 is the township committee workshop meeting, with Dec. 10 being the actual date of the regular meeting. Both meetings will start at 7:00 p.m.
