SPRINGFIELD, NJ - In a post on the town website, Springfield extended its condolences to the family of a man who made a measurable impact on the town over the course of his life.
Terry Alan Bucksar died at the age of 69 on Aug. 2. Bucksar, the son of Andrew and Hazel Bucksar was born and raised in Springfield, attending Jonathan Dayton High School before serving in the United States Navy.
As a businessman, he owned and operated the T&C Shell Auto Care Center, which has been a staple in Springfield for 45 years. As the post on the township's website noted, Bucksar was an honest businessman, and always had a helping hand for his community especially when they needed him the most.
The post read in part, "During Superstorm Sandy, Terry was pivotal in providing the township with a local fuel supply to support our emergency efforts allowing us to provide much need services to the community. Always humble, Terry wanted no recognition for his role in supporting the community."
Bucksar is survived by his wife of 42 years Debby, children Ashley, Jake and Evan and his grandson George as well as his older brothers, Richard and Drew.
