SPRINGFIELD, NJ — The Springfield Department of Public Works has expanded the number of days and hours for dropping off mixed yard waste and electronic recycling.

The change in hours of operation began May 1, and will continue through Oct. 23 every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. just inside the Community Pool gate on the right-hand side at 44 Morrison Rd.

Clippings may be put in paper recyclable bags or in trash cans. Under no circumstances can Public Works accept any material placed in any type of plastic bag.

The E-Waste or electronic recycling will follow the same hours as the mixed yard waste, however the first Saturday of the month has been suspended.

Reminder to all residents that dumping outside of these hours is strictly prohibited. The drop-off location is under 24-hours video surveillance.
