SPRINGFIELD, NJ - For his hard work and dedication, Springfield Library volunteer Bill Ruby recently received an award from the Libraries of Union County.

Ruby was honored on Sept. 25 as the Libraries of Union County Volunteer of the Year for his many years of volunteer service as the exhibit designer for the art gallery at the Donald B. Palmer Museum of the Springfield Free Public Library.

He was nominated for his work with the Palmer Museum by library director Dale Spindel. The Donald B. Palmer Museum is a permanent collection of artifacts related to Springfield and New Jersey history that are housed within the Springfield Free Public Library.

In addition to the collection, the library also boats a gallery space where the collection can be exhibited. The space has housed rotating exhibitions that include artwork, sculpture, photography and mixed media works.
