SPRINGFIELD, NJ — After almost a week, it's safe to say the new normal in Springfield is a halt to the upward trend of cases seen elsewhere around the state and country.
As of yesterday's update, Springfield had no new cases of COVID-19 for the sixth day, keeping the town's total at 213 positive tests and 16 deaths.
Overall, Union County had 163 new cases of COVID-19, and 31 new deaths, totaling 13,503 positive tests and 768 deaths.
And Statewide, New Jersey had 2,494 new cases of COVID-19 and 334 new deaths, bringing the state total number to 130,593 positive tests, and 8,244 COVID-19 related deaths.
As reported yesterday the Communicable Disease Reporting and Surveillance System (CDRSS) was down yesterday. A jump in numbers was anticipated today, as the system catches up.
