SPRINGFIELD, NJ — In an Easter Sunday update, Springfield Mayor Chris Capodice updated residents on the latest COVID-19 totals at the local, county and state level, as well as important information regarding the county testing site at Kean University.

As of yesterday's message for the mayor, Springfield had one new case of COVID-19, totaling 126 positive tests and three deaths. Union County had 315 new cases of COVID-19, and 14 new deaths, totaling 6,180 positive tests and 209 deaths.

The State of New Jersey had 3,699 new cases of COVID-19 and 167 new deaths, bringing the state total number to 61,850 positive tests, and 2,350 COVID-19 related deaths.

Due to the anticipated inclement weather, the Union County COVID-19 Drive-Through Center will be closed today, Monday, April 13th. The center will re-open Tuesday, April 14th at 9:00 a.m. All appointments scheduled for Monday will be honored on Tuesday. Also note that due to the high volume anticipated on Tuesday, no unscheduled drive-ups will be accepted.
