UPDATE: Power was restored just after 10:00 a.m. at Caldwell. Students have moved back to their classrooms, and regular dismissal will take place from Caldwell at 3:00 p.m.

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — In an email to parents, James Caldwell Elementary School Principal David Rennie announced a change in drop off location this morning.

"Due to a power outage at Caldwell School, we will begin our day at Dayton High School," the email from Rennie read. "Please drop your child off in front of the Dayton Auditorium. There will be school personnel ready to greet them. Thank you in advance for your cooperation."

An early-morning power outage knocked out power to multiple sections of town early this morning. According to Springfield Mayor Christopher Capodice, the cause of the outage was downed power lines near the DMV building. Capodice said the estimated time of restration should be around 9:00 a.m.
