ROBBINSVILLE, NJ - Matthew Clarke, Business Administrator of the Springfield School Board and outgoing president of the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials (NJASBO) will assume the role of Immediate Past President of the NJASBO for the 2019-2020 school year.

Clarke started with the Scotch Plains-Fanwood School District in 1993 as the assistant business administrator, before being promoted to business administrator/board secretary for the district in 1997. 

In 1999, Clarke became assistant superintendent for finance and business operations for the Owensboro Public Schools in Kentucky, before joining the Springfield Public School district in his current role in 2002.

Clarke is the immediate past president and also served as a trustee for the NJASBO. He is also a previous recipient of NJASBO’s Above & Beyond Award.

Clarke has held several leadership positions at the Union County Association of School Business Officials, including two terms each as secretary, vice president and president.

After graduating from Lycoming College with a bachelor’s of arts degree, Clarke has held a New Jersey School Business Administrator Certificate since 1998. Clarke also is a Registered School Business Official and a New Jersey Qualified Purchasing Agent.

Clarke lives in Howell with his wife of 29 years, Gayle, and three children, Samantha, Wyatt and Tabitha.
