SPRINGFIELD, NJ - In an open letter circulated throughout various digital channels in town, Springfield Board of Education (BOE) President Scott Silverstein and Board Vice President Marc Miller released an open letter informing the public of their plans moving forward for the position of superintendent.

According to the pair, the contract for a consulting firm was awarded to R-Pat Solutions LLC during the Oct. 21 meeting.

At the next public BOE meeting on Nov. 4, 2019, R-Pat will make a presentation to the Board that according to the letter; "will outline the search process and provide details on future meetings and opportunities for public input during that process."

Board members are encouraging all interested members of the community to attend the meeting or to view it online at the following link: https://www.springfieldschools.com/content/626. Videos are usually posted the day after the meeting.

As Silverstein and Miller said in their letter, "The Board is committed to conducting a thorough search process that offers all stakeholders, including administrators, staff members, and members of the community at large, opportunities to provide input to help the Board establish a profile for the successful applicant by identifying the skills and attributes that will make that person successful in the position."

Additionally, the two thanked outgoing superintendent Michael Davino, who will be leaving at the end of this school year after more than 15 years at the helm. The letter thanked him for his successes in the role during his tenure.

The letter concluded, saying, "We encourage all of our stakeholders to work with R-Pat as they help us identify those qualities that will permit us to select the right candidate to lead our District in building on those achievements in the future."
