SPRINGFIELD, NJ — As part of the 2020 reorganization meeting, the Springfield School Board held its annual reorganization meeting last night.
Hillary Turnbull and Scott Silverstein were sworn back in to continue their terms on the BOE. Silverstein served last year as the BOE president.
They were joined by newcomer Meredith Murphy, who ran for and won her seat in the last election.
Following the swearing in of the three members by Matthew Clarke, the board also voted for its newest president and vice president. Marc Miller was put forward in a motion for the position of board president b Paula Saha, with Laura Gamarekian seconding. The vote was unanimous, with Miller abstaining.
Following that motion, a second one was held to determine the new vice president. Gamarekian was put forth by Kristy Rubin and seconded by Silverstein. The vote was also unanimous, with Gamarekian abstaining for ethics purposes.
