SPRINGFIELD, NJ – Four Springfield postal carriers will be honored for their 30+ years of accident-free service by the National Safety Council. The prestigious Million Mile Award will be presented to Letter Carriers James Birch, Jose Cabrales, Rich Castore and Sheila Pierce.
The award recognizes those who have driven a million miles or 25,000 hours of driving without an incident. Reaching this unique milestone requires 30+ years of service and an unwavering attention to safety. To put it in perspective, you would have to travel around the earth 40.1 times to cover one million miles.
The ceremony will be held at the Springfield Post Office on 210 Mountain Ave. in Springfield at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11.
In addition to the honorees, Springfield Township officials and Springfield Postmaster Julianne LoPiccolo will be in attendance.
