SPRINGFIELD, NJ - With the Springfield Office of Emergency Management (OEM) needing new radios and radio accessories, the township has approved the expenditure of funds for that purpose.
Scott Siedel, OEM Coordinator made the determination and requested the use of funds from the township for the purchase, which was approved. The radios and equipment will be purchased through a contract with Motorola Solutions, PO 161, Wharton, NJ 07885.
As part of the purchase authorization, no more than $66,710.76 will be spent on the radios.
According to a post on the town website, the Springfield OEM protects against the impacts of natural and man-made emergencies and disaster on people, property, environment and economy in Springfield through mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery efforts.
They are one of 21 Emergency Management Departments throughout the county.
