SPRINGFIELD, NJ - In a resolution passed at Wednesday's township committee meeting, Springfield entered into a three-year contract for telephone and internet service with Cablevision Lightpath LLC of Piscataway.

Because Springfield is a member of the New Jersey cooperative pricing system, it allowed the town to approve a contract with Cablevision Lightpath without having to go through the bidding process. Cooperative pricing systems are used by multiple state municipalities as a way to keep purchasing costs level.

In the resolution, it was noted that Springfield's Chief Financial Officer (CFO) recommended that the township join with Cablevision Lightpath for the three-year period.
