SPRINGFIELD, NJ – Two offices in the Springfield Municipal building recently changed locations.
The Springfield Police Records office is now located on the first floor of the Springfield Municipal Building, opposite the Administration office closer to the Police Desk.
The Tax Collector's office was relocated to the second floor of the Municipal Building, along with the Tax Assessor's office, Chief Financial Officer and Office of the Treasurer. All four offices are part of the Finance Department for the Township of Springfield.
The second floor is handicapped accessible utilizing the elevator inside the lobby of the municipal building.
The Springfield Police Records office maintains a record of all incident and motor vehicle accident reports for the police department. In addition, the Records Bureau assists the township prosecutor in preparing discovery for court each week. Records also handles requests for fingerprints, good conduct letters, temporary handicap placards, OPRA requests and processes alarm registrations. The Springfield Tax Collector bills and collects taxes and assessments, enforces timely payments by taxpayers, delivers delinquency notices, and calculates interest on delinquencies as well as holding annual tax sales. The Tax Collector’s office can be reached at 973-912-2204
