SPRINGFIELD, NJ - The following is the Springfield Police Department blotter for the first half of November:
Nov 6 – Officers were dispatched to a Morris Avenue business on a report of a shoplifter that had fled the scene on foot. A responding officer observed the suspect running in a nearby office parking lot. The suspect, a 48-year-old Newark man, was located inside the office building and was arrested and charged with shoplifting and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
Nov 11 – Officers were detailed to a business on Morris Turnpike on a report of an attempted purchase using counterfeit currency. An on-scene investigation resulted in the arrest of a 21-year-old Brooklyn, New York woman, who was charged with forgery with purpose to defraud, and hindering apprehension. A second suspect, a 24-year-old man also from Brooklyn New York, was arrested on an outstanding criminal warrant out of North Haven, Connecticut.
Nov 14 – A 70-year-old Springfield man was charged with lewdness as a result of a Detective Bureau investigation.
Officers made additional arrests on outstanding warrants out of East Orange, Springfield, Montgomery Township, and Elizabeth.
