SPRINGFIELD, NJ - The following is the Springfield Police Department blotter for the second half of the month of November:
Nov 14 – A 30-year-old Middletown man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance as a result of an investigation at the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Shunpike Road.
Nov 15 – A 31-year old Hillside man was arrested and charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer after he presented a County Corrections Officer identification and was found to no longer be employed by that agency.
Nov 18 – Officers were detailed to a Route 22 business on a report of a suspect attempting to sell a stolen item to the store. A 22-year-old East Orange man was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property.
Nov 20 – A 28-year-old Maspeth, New York man was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and narcotics paraphernalia as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Morris Turnpike.
Nov 26 – Officers were detailed to a Route 22 business on a report of an employee falsifying transactions and returns. A 33-year-old Newark man was arrested and charged with theft.
Nov 27 – A resident observed a male dumping empty Amazon boxes into a recycling container. A description of the vehicle was broadcast to Officers on patrol and the suspect vehicle was stopped near the intersection of Morris and Mountain Avenue. An investigation at the scene resulted in the arrest of the driver, an 18-year old Roselle man, who was charged with theft. The passenger, a 20-year-old Bayonne man, was also charged with theft as a result of a follow-up investigation by the Detective Bureau.
Officers made additional arrests on outstanding warrants out of Woodbridge, Elizabeth, Newark, and Essex County.
