SPRINGFIELD, NJ - As part of the festivities surrounding the first day of Springfield's Junior Police Academy, the New Jersey State Police were happy to help lend a hand.

At the beginning of this week, the Springfield Police Department kicked off their junior academy with a visit from the state police, who brought one of their fleet of helicopters.

The ceremony kicks off a whole week of programming for the junior cadets where they will learn the ins and outs of policework.
