SPRINGFIELD, NJ - The following is the Springfield Police Department Blotter from July 1 to July 15:

July 1 – A 22-year-old Short Hills woman was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, and multiple moving violations including reckless driving and improper passing as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Morris Turnpike.

July 1 – Officers responded to the area of Irwin Street after receiving a report of a vehicle that struck a parked vehicle and left the scene. The suspect vehicle was located on Mountain Avenue and the driver, a 42-year-old Springfield man, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, possession of THC oil, possession of narcotics paraphernalia, and multiple motor vehicle violations, including leaving the scene of an accident.

July 3 – An Officer on routine patrol attempted to stop a reported stolen vehicle on Route 22. The vehicle failed to stop and was pursued west on Route 22 and continued through multiple jurisdictions before stopping on Route 22 in Union Township. The occupants then fled the vehicle, and one suspect was apprehended with the assistance of Union and Millburn police officers. The suspect, a 20-year-old East Orange man, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property, resisting arrest with force, possession of marijuana, and numerous motor vehicle violations.

July 4 – A 50-year-old East Orange man was arrested and charged with driving while under the influence, obstruction, and hindering apprehension as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 22.

July 13 – A 26-year-old Maplewood man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence as a result of an on-scene investigation of a motor vehicle accident on Meisel Avenue.

July 15 – Officers were detailed to a Morris Avenue business on a report of shoplifting. A 43-year-old South Orange woman was arrested and charged with theft.

Officers made four additional arrests on outstanding warrants out of Roselle Park, Hoboken. Newark, and Springfield.
