SPRINGFIELD, NJ - Per the Springfield Police Department, below is the blotter for the second half of the month of January.

On Jan. 16, officers were detailed to a Morris Avenue business on a report of a disorderly person. The suspect, a 47-year-old East Orange man, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to turn over a controlled dangerous substance to police, as well as outstanding warrants out of Newark and Irvington.

On Jan. 22, officers were detailed to a Linden Avenue residence on a report of an attempted burglary. After obtaining a description of a suspect and the vehicle observed fleeing the scene, responding officers located and stopped the vehicle on Morris Avenue. The occupants of the vehicle, two Perth Amboy men ages 32 and 45, were arrested and charged with multiple offenses including burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, possession of burglary tools, criminal mischief, and possession of crack cocaine, heroin, and narcotics paraphernalia.

On Jan. 25, a 58-year-old Plainfield man was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Union.

On Jan. 27, a 54-year-old West Orange man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 22.

On Jan. 30, a 25-year-old Jersey City man was charged with theft as a result of an investigation of the fraudulent use of a credit card reported in October 2018.

And on Jan. 31, a 21-year-old Union man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Baltusrol Way.
