SPRINGFIELD, NJ — For the second year in a row, members of the Springfield Jewish Community came together for an annual Hanukkah party.

Last year's celebration was held at Temple Sha'arey Shalom, with this year's celebration being hosted at Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael. In attendance were members of all three congregations in town, a crowd that included members of Beth Ahm, Sha'arey, and Congregation Israel.

Each synagogue's respective Rabbi was there as well. Beth Ahm was represented by Mark Mallach, Congregation Israel was represented by Chaim Marcus and Sha'arey was represented by Renee Edelman.

Mallach, the host Rabbi, spoke with TAPinto, and said that seeing the members of each temple mingling brings him a great deal of joy.

"I think the important thing to note here is this is my 21st year here in this congregation," Mallach said. "And we have made slow strides in creating a more unified Jewish community amongst the three congregations here. And it brings me a lot of joy and pride that I've been involved with part of it and helped move this to this level."
