Dayton Girls Tennis Beats Roselle Park 5-0

SPRINGFIELD, NJ – Jonathan Dayton girls tennis team won their second match in a row beating Roselle Park High School 5-0 and pushing their record for the season to 2-1. 

Dayton’s first two singles players have won all their matches this season.

Senior Fabiana Suarez, Dayton’s court one, beat Mariana Rivera 6-1, 6-2.  On court two, Dayton’s senior Melanie Schickler had to battle hard to beat Alexis Kuterka 6-0, 6-6 (3-7),10-8.  Playing court three for the Bulldogs was sophomore Jordyn Engel and she beat Pooja Amin 6-2, 6-1.

Playing first doubles for Dayton were senior Zoe Frei and junior Sheila Flood and they beat B. Ortega and N. Patel 6-2, 6-1.  Dayton second doubles was played by junior Elisa Neri and senior Jessica Steir and they had one of the closet matches coming back to beat B. Figueiredo and J. Patel 3-6, 6-3, 10-7.

The Bulldogs play their next match Thursday at 4:00 p.m. against Plainfield High School and they return home for a Friday match against Elizabeth High School.
