ROSELLE PARK, NJ — A quick start and a balanced scoring effort meant victory Tuesday for the Dayton boys basketball team.

Senior guard DJ Alicea scored a game-high 25 points and junior Mahki Cromartie added 10 points to power Dayton to a 68-43 victory over Roselle Park in Roselle Park.

Leading 25-17 at halftime, Dayton posted a 21-point third quarter to take command with a 46-30 advantage entering the fourth.

Alicea, who has 287 points on the season, has now scored in double figures in 62 straight games played and raised his school-leading mens' career total to 1,362 points.

Junior Josh Jackson had eight points and juniors Mike Kanarek, Daniel Munoz and sophomore Cameron Campbell-Miller each added six points apiece for the Bulldogs (7-8) have won three straight, four of its last five and is 5-4 over its last nine games.

Senior Daniel Adams scored 12 points with two 3-pointers and sophomore Aidenn Gorombey-Kelly, along with senior Shawn Roach each added nine points apiece to pace Roselle Park (6-10), which has lost two straight games.

The Bulldogs will complete its two-game road trip Thursday as they visit Johnson at 5:30 p.m. tip and then returns to Mountain Avenue for three straight, starting with Eagle Academy on Monday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m.
