Senior guard DJ Alicea scored a game-high 18 points and juniors Mike Kanarek and Mahki Cromartie each added nine points apiece to lead Dayton to a come-from-behind 50-33 victory over Roselle in Springfield Thursday.

The Bulldogs (6-8) have won two straight, three of its last four and is 4-4 over its last eight games.

Trailing 24-17 at halftime, Dayton erupted for a 33-9 second half to secure the win.

“We did some things a little uncharacteristic of what we’re capable of in that first half. Guys were in the right spots and the ball was going to the right person, but sometimes we dropped it, sometimes we walked with it,” said Dayton head coach Bobby Martin. “In the second half, I thought we straightened that out a little bit and we took it to them. We didn’t let them dictate to us, we took the game right to them.”

Alicea, who has 262 points on the season, has now scored in double figures in 61 straight games played and raised his school-leading career total to 1,337 points.

Samuel Noel scored nine points, Jahed Muhammad added eight points with seven rebounds and Quamir Martin posted five points with 11 rebounds for Roselle (9-4), which has lost two of its last three and three of its last five games.

The Bulldogs will hit the road for two straight games starting Tuesday as they visit Roselle Park at 5:30 p.m. and Johnson Thursday, also a 5:30 p.m. tip.
