SPRINGFIELD, NJ - As the last warm day of the year rolled away, Mother Nature brought sheets of rain cascading down on to the field at Jonathan Dayton.

That still would not be enough to stop the boys soccer team, who crushed Linden in a rainy 6-1 win. In the first half, Dayton would jump out to a quick lead, thanks to goals from Jeremy Dash, Hunter Gollin, Jagger Kebea and Ethan Mosquera.

Those tallies would be more than enough to hold the lead, but the the Bulldogs added some insurance with two second half goals. Ian Drogowitz punched a shot home, and Dash would pot his second goal of the contest.

Linden would get a goal to avoid being shut out, but the Bulldogs won in convincing fashion.

The team will be playing in the Union County Tournament on Oct. 5. As of press time, no time or location has been formally announced.
