SPRINGFIELD, NJ — The Dayton girls basketball team needed a win Saturday and they got it.

Senior Michelle Bellino scored a game-high 16 points with nine rebounds, three assists and three steals to lead Dayton to a come-from-behind 43-39 victory over Johnson in Springfield.

Dayton (3-6), which trailed 24-15 at halftime, saw its three-game losing streak snapped and improved to 3-3 at home.

Senior Haeley Santos added nine points, all on 3-pointers, with six rebounds and two steals and senior Casey Janker posted eight points with two 3-pointers and seven rebounds for Dayton, which outscored Johnson, 28-15, in the second half to secure the win.

Junior Aiyona Wood added another solid performance, contributing seven points with nine rebounds and freshman Samantha Casey grabbed seven rebounds for the Bulldogs, which held a 42-34 advantage on the boards.

Sophomore Dominka Kosiek scored a team-high 13 points with 11 rebounds and freshman Katie Ledden added nine points with 11 rebounds, three assists, three steals and three blocks to pace Johnson (3-7), which has lost three of its last four games.

The Bulldogs, currently fifth (1-4) in the UCC-Valley Division, visit UCC-Mountain Division and rival New Providence on Tuesday with first tip scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and hosts UCC-Valley Division leader Elizabeth at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
