SPRINGFIELD, NJ - The team battled valiantly, but in a contest held in conjunction with their senior night celebrations, the Jonathan Dayton Girls' Soccer team came up short in a 3-0 loss to Kent Place.

The Bulldogs were held off the score sheet by the Dragons, and afterwards, head coach Matt Lynch spoke with TAPinto about what he thought were some of the reasons for the flat performance.

"It was a lot of emotion on senior night, and it was difficult," Lynch said. "Kent Place put a couple goals in. Coming back from 2-0 at half time is difficult to do. But we played well in the second half trying to get back into the game  and [it] just didn't happen for us tonight.

The girls will play next against Elizabeth High School on Oct. 15. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
