SPRINGFIELD, NJ - The stte playoff run for the Jonathan Dayton Bulldogs Volleyball team ended much sooner than players on the team would have liked.
The Hasbrouck Heights Aviators bested Dayton 2-0 (25-21, 25-13) in straight sets to capture their first round match on Tuesday afternoon in Springfield.
For head coach Mike O'Brien many of the issues his team faced came from a late switch in the lineup.
"We had two girls playing out of place because we had someone injured," O'Brien said. "And we had to move people around. So today, communication was a big issue. They weren't used to their positions and I think a lot of the girls realized you had to play together as a team."
Despite losing the senior class, O'Brien is also optimistic about next year. He said there are a number of underclassmen players who will have a chance to learn and grow.
