SPRINGFIELD, NJ - Senior Night is always a bittersweet affair, as each team gets to give their departing students one final grand send-off.

Thursday night saw two teams at Jonathan Dayton High School holding their senior night festivities; Volleyball and Girls' Soccer. Both coaches spoke with TAPinto about their experiences with the senior class.

For volleyball coach Mike O'Brien, while his time with the current group of seniors was short, he said that he truly saw the character of the team come through.

"This is my first year with them." O'Brien said. "So I've only known the seniors for a short time. But in the short time I've gotten to know them, they're hardworking. They're such nice girls. They have hearts of gold, so they will do anything for anybody, and like I said before, I'm proud of what they do."

On the other hand, soccer coach Matt Lynch has been with his program for a few more years.

He said that he was happy to hae been able to help guide his seniors through their school careers, and that the outgoing seniors will be joining the ranks of former players who have also had their senior nights.

"To have all the players that have come through the program, it just a great experience," Lynch said. "I'm very happy to have talented and dedicated players. They're committed to the program and I couldn't ask for a better group.
