UNION, NJ – An armed robbery in the parking lot of the Whole Foods in Union has police and Union County Crime Stoppers asking the public for help.

Police say that on Tuesday, Nov. 27, at about 8:00 p.m., a woman reported that as she was loading her bags in the trunk of her car at the Whole Foods at 2245 Springfield Avenue, a man approached her, displayed a handgun and demanded money.

The woman reported to police that she gave the man her handbag which contained her wallet with cash and credit cards.  The suspect was last seen running toward Springfield Avenue.  He was described as a thin black male,  approximately 5’9” tall, 40-50 years old and wearing a face mask.

Police say they are following up on leads, but are requesting help from the public.  Crime Stoppers offers rewards of up to $10,000 for information resulting in the arrest and indictment/prosecution of criminal offenders.
