Ciacco and Leyh Two Goals Not Enough as Southern Girls Lacrosse Drop Season Opener 9-8 to Howell

STAFFORD, NJ - Coach Lori Bucci's Southern Regional Girls Lacrosse team lost a tough contest to Howell in their season opener by a score of 9-8.  The Rams were down 8-6 and fought to tie the contest at 8, but fell just short.  

Olivia Manghisi scored the game-winning goal for Howell.  She had seven goals on the day.  Emily Schwerdt added two goals for Howell in the victory and Erika DeSantis had 18 saves.

Brooke Ciacco and Maddie Leyh finished with two goals each for Southern and Clare McCarthy stopped 18 shots.
