STAFFORD -Coastal Volunteers in Medicine is a free non-emergency family clinic for those without medical insurance who live in Southern Ocean County. The organization recently announced that they have opened a new location at 53 Nautilus Drive, Suite B-1 in the Ocean Acres section of Manahawkin.

The organization started in 2013, the clinic was formerly at the former King of Kings Church in Manahawkin and in Barnegat.  This new location was donated by Hackensack Meridian Health.

The medical care is free and since opening in 2013, they have provided quality health care to over 700 patients.

The medical team does not receive any government funds but instead depends on donations and private grants. 

The medical team is composed entirely of volunteers, which include doctors, advanced nurse practitioners and nurses..

Coastal Volunteers in Medicine require preregistration by 609-384-0102.

The clinical services offered by Coastal VIM include primary and ongoing care, physicals and health screenings, women’s and family care, diabetes and other chronic disease management, diagnostic testing, hypertension clinic, prescription assistance, social service referrals and health education.

The clinic is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Remember it is necessary to call (609) 384-0102 to make an appointment.
