Cona's Walkoff Singles Gives Southern Regional Girls Softball Squad 9-8 Victory Over Henry Hudson in Season Opener


STAFFORD - The Southern Southern Regional Softball team opened their season Saturday by defeating Henry Hudson 9-8 in extra innings.

The contest came down to the wire as the Rams were victorious after a dramatic walk off single by Victoria Cona. 

Keeley Himmelreich went 4-for-5 with a triple and two RBI and Christina D'Amodio added two singles with two RBI to lead Southern.  Christine Rinaldo also chipped in with two singles and an RBI.

The Rams tied the contest in the bottom of the seventh inning on a Chrissy Rinaldi singled as two runs scored. Tatiyana Ford pitched the entire 9 innings for Southern and gained the victory. 

Alyssa Curry had two singles with three RBI and Kamryn Hubeny added two singles with two RBI for Henry Hudson.
