SURF CITY, NJ - The Get LBI Running 5K held its fifth annual charity run/walk on Saturday, May 20.
Since its start in 2013, the race has attracted over 1,300 participants and raised more than $29,000 to benefit the Surf City Volunteer Fire Department and EMS.
The race was launched as a way to give back to Surf City’s Volunteer Fire Department and EMS for their efforts during the months following Super Storm Sandy.
This race continues as a way to show the community’s support and gratitude for the Volunteer Fire Department and EMS.
"This year’s event was a huge success with over 300 registered participants and over $6,500 going directly to the Surf City Fire Department," said Race Directory Kim Cassidy. "This event is all about community and would not be possible with the support from our generous sponsors!"
