Former Southern Regional Standout Basketball Player Curt Walters Passes at Age 55

STAFFORD, NJ - Curt Walters, former great Southern Regional basketball player who graduated in 1979 passed away last month in Florida.  He leaves behind many friends from the Stafford and LBI area who loved him dearly.

A memorial service is scheduled for this Saturday, April 8, 11 a.m. at the St. Mary's Cemetery, Beachview Avenue in Manahawkin.

Curt Gerard Walters,  AGE: 55 • Oviedo, FL

Curt Gerard Walters of Oviedo, Florida, 55, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at his home with his son and his sister, after a courageous battle with cancer. Curt was born May 19, 1961 to William and Rita (Tedesco) Walters at Christ Hospital in New Jersey and was raised on Long Beach Island, NJ.

He graduated from Southern Regional High School in 1979 and from Upsala college in 1983. Curt loved to do anything with his boy and made him his world.

Curt was the Branch Manager of A.A. Casey in Orlando, FL for the last 14 years. He had a huge personality which helped him form countless professional, personal and genuine relationships with so many different people. He really enjoyed to golf, fish and CrossFit where he spent innumerable hours and laughs. Above all, he valued time spent with family, that was the Italian in him. 

Curt is survived by his son Alex Walters (Fl), his father William (NJ), his sister Ellen (NJ), brothers Craig (Nancy) (NJ) and Cliff (SC), aunts Laura Walters (NJ) and Karen Walters (NJ) in addition to many nieces and nephews and in the hearts of those he impacted most. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 8 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's cemetery at 283 Beachview Ave, Manahawkin New Jersey, 08050.
