Former Southern Regional Volleyball Blocker Kelsie Blue Selected to NCAA Division II CCA All-East Region Team for Second Straight Season

WEST HAVEN, CONNECTICUT - Kelsie Blue, the former 6'1" all-time career blocker for the Rams, has been selected to the 2016 NCAA Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (CCA) All-East Region Volleyball Second Team.

Blue is Georgian Court University's senior middle hitter/blocker and has earned this elite team selection for the second straight season. Blue leads the conference in every blocking category, including: solo blocks (55), block assists (95), total blocks (150) and blocks-per-set (1.29).

Blue is Georgian Court University's all-time leader who registered the 500th block of her illustrious collegiate career in a match at Goldey-Beacom College on Oct. 25.

"The two-time All-CACC first-teamer was also an offensive force for the Lions as Blue ranks second on the GCU roster with 221 kills while placing 6th conference-wide with a hitting percentage of .297," says the GCU report, "the Lions finished the 2016 campaign with an 18-17 record, finishing second overall in the CACC South Division standings."

Eric Maxwell, Blue's former coach for the Rams, talks very highly of her and said, "Kelsie is so deserving of this honor. She showed constant improvement as she worked through our high school program and  always had such a positive outlook."

Maxwell continued, "Kelsie made herself into a phenomenal blocker and it is great to see her earning recognition at the next level. Nice to see good things happen for such a fantastic person. Always a pleasure to coach."

Blue graduated from Southern Regional in 2013 and holds the title as All-Time Career block leader with 290 blocks.
