BRANT BEACH, NJ - The Long Beach Township PBA and the Where Angels Play Foundation held an Easter Egg Hunt for area children today. The temperature was cool but the sun was shining brightly at this event. The Barnegat Bay made a beautiful backdrop for the hunt.
The event was a great success with hundreds of children having a great time. The playgound was constructed by Where Angels Play as a donation after Hurricane Sandy.
The organizaiton began in response to the school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut at the Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012. 20 students and six adults were killed that day.
This Brant Beach playground is named after Lauren Rousseau. Lauren was a 30 year old teacher who was killed at the Sandy Hook shooting. She was a dedicated and loving teacher.
The Long Beach Township PBA Local 73 supports the Where Angels Play Foundation. The leader of the project for the Long Beach Township police was Officer Brendan Kerlin. He had a lot of great help from fellow officers on this day.
A wonderful event on a beautiful day.
